# Transfer Account to a New Device

## Account Transfer Policy

By policy, account transfers are no longer being done for *Power Rangers: Legacy Wars***.**

**Exceptions can be made at our discretion** for loss or breakage. For example, change of devices to/from Android and iOS. In the case of an exception request you MUST have the PID of both your new device install and the PID your previous device.\*\*

{% hint style="info" %}
\*\* a screen shot of a legacy account is insufficient proof of account ownership since user info is publicly displayed.
{% endhint %}

**Same OS example:** If you've purchased and installed the game on a new phone because of loss or breakage, and the new phone is the same OS as your old phone, you can simply connect to **Google Play** or **Apple Game Center** from your new device and have the backed up game progress automatically synced to your new phone. You can find this in `Settings` > `Connect` .

### **Why the new policy?**

We've uncovered numerous instances of hijacking and selling of accounts.

{% hint style="danger" %}
**Per the** [**Terms of Service**](/prlw/policies/terms-of-service.md)**, selling accounts is not allowed, and could result in a suspension or permanent account ban.**
{% endhint %}

## **Can I transfer my account to a new phone/device?**

You can transfer your *Power Rangers: Legacy Wars* account to a new device, but the method depends entirely on whether you are staying on the same operating system (e.g., iPhone to iPhone) or switching platforms (e.g., iPhone to Android).

### 1. Same Platform (Easiest Method)

If you are moving from Android to Android or iOS to iOS, the process is automatic if you used the cloud save feature.

* **Old Device:** Ensure your game is connected to Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center/Apple ID (iOS) in the settings menu.
* **New Device:** Log into the *same* Google or Apple account on the new phone.
* **Action:** When you launch *Legacy Wars* on the new device, a pop-up should appear detecting your old save file. It will ask if you want to load the existing profile. Click "Yes" or "Confirm."

### 2. Different Platform (iOS ↔ Android)

This is much more difficult. *Power Rangers: Legacy Wars* does not currently support cross-platform syncing via Facebook or nWayPlay ID. You cannot simply log in to transfer your progress between iPhone and Android yourself.

To move your account across platforms, you must contact Customer Support and ask them to manually move your data.

The "Manual Transfer" Process:

1. **Get your Old Player ID:** Open the game on your old device. Go to Settings and take a screenshot of your Player ID (a long string of numbers/letters usually found at the bottom).
2. **Create a New Account:** Download the game on your *new* device and complete the tutorial until you have a fresh account.
3. **Get your New Player ID:** Write down the Player ID of this *new, empty* account.
4. **Contact Support:** \* Go to `Settings` > `Support` > `Contact Us` (on the new device).
   * Send a ticket explaining: "I want to transfer my account from \[Old OS] to \[New OS]."
   * Provide BOTH Player IDs (Old and New).
   * They may ask for receipts of past purchases to prove you own the old account.
   * Warning: This process will overwrite the new account completely.

## Troubleshooting Linked Accounts

* **"Account Already Linked"**: If you get an error saying an account is already linked, you may need to log out of the store account (Game Center/Google Play) on your device settings and log back in.
* **Missing Progress**: If your account doesn't load, play through the tutorial first. The "Load Previous Save" pop-up often only triggers *after* the tutorial is finished.
